The Internet Is Back On!

Thank god the internet connection is back on. After a full day black out yesterday, we finally be able to access international link from 2 AM this morning. The cut off was due to a fly-over construction at Palembang. The fiber optic cable under the sea was somehow broken and PT. Telkom Indonesia has done everything that was in their power to fix the problem. And we are really grateful for that as of this morning the internet connection is alive and kicking.

Something that I learned from this is that we really need to have a backup connection in case something like this happens again. But the cost of having a backup connection is really expensive. For instance I have tried to call our IIX provider and ask for a temporary international connection. The cost for 128 Kbps bandwith up to 256 Kbps is IDR 350,000 per day. The cost is a lot more expensive than the current one. Thankfully that the internet connection is back on so we don't need the backup plan.
